The bioinformatics facility at CIMR provides biological data handling and analysis in a wide range of topics — differential expression analysis, next generation sequencing, networks, protein architecture, and motif searching among many others — for in-house researchers. These activities take the form of database design and tuning, software development, bespoke data analysis, data retrieval/handling and bioinformatics pipeline design and implementation. From general bioinformatics advice to long term research projects, the unit currently undertakes requests from nearly ten different principal investigators within CIMR. This core unit is also in-charge of providing general bioinformatics training and managing the institute's high performance facility, jointly with the IT Team.
