Cambridge Institute for Medical Research

We were delighted to welcome a group of undergraduate students from Anglia Ruskin University's Biomedical Science Society yesterday (13th April).  Three of our PhD students, Holly Monkhouse, Ellie Fox and Anna Ceesay explained the different routes they took into their PhD research, and shared their experiences of being a post-graduate student in Cambridge. John Nicholson, a research technician and technician development advisor, also gave a talk about careers in technical services at the university. Students then toured our core facilities, learning how microscopy, flow cytometry and proteomics support the research at CIMR and MBU.

Links with local schools, colleges and higher education institutes form an important part of our public engagement programme, aiming to encourage young people into careers in science and research.
