Biography
I studied biochemistry in Trinity College Dublin, and obtained my PhD from the University of Cambridge (supervised by Prof. Jeremy Saklatvala of the Babraham Institute and Kennedy Instititute of Rheumatology). I held postdoc positions at the Inositide Laboratory, Babraham and with Prof. Ken Siddle in the Dept. of Clinical Biochemistry / Institute of Metabolic Science where I also secured a Diabetes UK RD Lawrence Fellowship. Outside academia I have worked in the biotech sector and in medical research charities, as Director of Research at Alzheimer's Research UK, followed by Myeloma UK. I am a Trustee of Alzheimer's Brain Bank UK.
