Cambridge Institute for Medical Research

CIMR and the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit (MBU) will be offering a one-year MPhil in "The Molecular Mechanisms of Human Disease" from October 2024. The course will provide an in-depth understanding of how fundamental pathways of cellular homeostasis are disrupted in genetic and infectious diseases. It will cover both practical and theoretical aspects of research and span disease diagnosis and identification, lab-based mechanistic studies, and how potential therapeutics are developed. Combining taught elements, core skills development and a 32 week practical project, the course will give students invaluable insights and expertise in the use of state-of-the-art technologies and platforms to delve into the mechanisms of human disease.
Applications are now open; closing date is 1st May 2024. Further information about the course and how to apply can be found here and on the University of Cambridge Applications Portal
