Reaching Research 2024

Reaching Research is a virtual event for Y12 and Y13 students interested in biomedical research.

Dates: Monday 29th July, Tuesday 30th July, and Wednesday 31st July 2024

Times: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Online

Are you interested in finding out more about future study and careers in biomedical research?
You will hear from researchers working at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, learning about their career paths and what they currently research. You will also be taught an experimental protocol by PhD students.

·       To apply for a place at this event, fill in our application form

·       In order to keep participant numbers to a manageable level and to widen participation in research, priority will be given to students who meet one or more of our additional criteria:

          - Currently or previously in local authority care.
          - Eligible for free school meals.
          - Currently caring for someone.
          - Parents/ carers did not attend university.
          - Live in a POLAR4 quintile 1 or 2 postcode. (https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/data-and-analysis/young-participation-by-area/)
          - Belong to an underrepresented ethnic group.
