CIMR Postdoctoral Committee
The postdoctoral committee aims to support all postdoctoral researchers at CIMR in whatever capacity, whether this is professional development, social interaction or any else. Our goal is to establish a postdoc community where postdocs can support each other, be involved in Institute matters though representation on committees, and welcome new members to the Institute. We aim to organise social events throughout the year including drinks for new starters, pub crawls around Cambridge, (virtual) pub quizzes, wine tasting, the Christmas party and a summer BBQ. Many of these events are co-organized with the Student Committee and are open to everyone at CIMR. We also aim to organise career events to inform CIMR postdocs about relevant aspects of the life sciences, including science communication, funding and industry, and highlight the different career paths available to researchers. We are currently organising the virtual CIMR seminar series to give postdocs the chance to share their work with the rest of the Institute and learn about other’s projects.
